Green Go-karts

September 2008

What a wonderful start to the new school year! The Green Go-Karts have been so busy getting to know their new teachers and their new friends. We have been learning to share our ideas and work together as one big, happy family. We have been learning many new songs but our best song is the bean bag dance where we have to balance our bean bags on different parts of our bodies without dropping them.

At school we have been doing some really fun stuff. Would you believe we have been painting with our fingers and toes? This week Mrs. Carolin brought ice cubes to school and we spread different coloured powder paint on our paper and then used an ice cube to mix the colours together. We made lots of new colours by just mixing red, blue and yellow together.

As our topic is “Feel and Sense” we have turned our role-play area into pizzeria. We have been using all our senses in this area when playing. Some of the Mums and Dads lent us empty spice bottles to smell and menus to look at as well as bowls, whisks, scales, aprons, oven gloves and a huge rolling pin.
